Stu Derby is retiring from DURFC at the end of 24/25; he has a written an open letter to express his thanks:

I would like to thank Si and all the rest of the coaches i have had the pleasure to work with over the years. A special thanks to Jamie and Jakki for all the help they gave me. Also all the players over the years too many to mention, I hope they all do well in the future. (Lidl sweet section will now be closing) I hope you will all help Paul like you helped me. Thank you again for your continued support. Stuart

The sesquicentennial anniversary events at the beginning of May will be a brilliant celebration of 150 years of high level rugby being played at Durham University.

APPLYING IN 2025?

We would be delighted to hear from students who may be interested in joining DURFC. We can provide 1-1 meetings (Zoom / Telephone) regarding the rugby programme and personalised visits and scholarship advice.

Here it is worth noting that we have monitoring systems in place which enable us to support UCAS applications from top class rugby players who also meet the demanding entry requirements of the University – so the earlier we know of a student's interest the earlier we can help them
